Please allow Liberté Sails to provide you and your family with a sailing adventure, that will allow you to experience peace, joy, and the FREEDOM of being on the water. Sailing can be very therapeutic and provide an opportunity to cope with the long term effects of PTSD, paralysis, amputation, nerve and brain damage. Our desire is that this adventure will leave a lasting impression while creating amazing memories.
**Liberté Sails offers veterans with disabilities the opportunity to build self-confidence without hindrance or restraint, by focusing on possibilities and not the disability.

Liberté Sails Sailing Adventure Eligibility Guidelines (Read Carefully)
Libert´e Sails Sailing Adventure is open to all veterans and active-duty military with service-connected physical or cognitive disabilities including (but not limited to):
amputations, (single ampute, paraplegic or quadriplegic), spinal cord injuries (SCI), visual impairments, hearing impairments, post traumatic stress (PTS) and traumatic brain injuries (TBI).
Libert´e Sails also considers final stages of life and those battling or have battled cancer.
Potential Libert´e Sails participants must complete the form below in order to be scheduled on one of our vessels. We are currently serving the WI, MN area with vessels on Lake Wissota, (Eau Claire, WI) and Menomonee MI (north of Green Bay - sailing door county) and soon to have a third vessel located in Bayfield WI (Apostle Islands - Lake Superior). Once we review the application form we will know what vessel best suits and send out an invitation. You may put a request as to where you would like to go sailing as well - No guarantees.
Due to the high interest in our program, an invitation to participate on a “Liberte Sails Sailing Adventure” will be based on the following:
Disability onset date and cause.
Type of disability.
Preference is given to combat wounded veterans (it is not a requirement.)
Preference is also given to current ACTIVE DUTY service members that have recently been injured or wounded in combat.
Physical and Cognitive disabilities requiring adaptive equipment or professional instruction or guidance.
Direct referral from a physician or therapist from a VA Hospital/clinic or other service member program.
